Rafael is a PGA Master Professional, one of the highest honors in golf instruction—a designation earned by fewer than 1% of PGA members. This distinction reflects decades of experience, study, and success helping golfers at every level, from beginners to future professionals. Throughout his career, he has learned from legendary coaches, competed alongside future PGA Tour players, and taught over 10,000 lessons and 500 golf schools and camps.

Rafael became an official member of the Professional Golfer's Association in 1999 - he has seen trends of teaching come and go since then, and knows the key componenets that actually matter when it comes to the game. From early guidance under Jim Napier, to practicing alongside future PGA Tour players at Ohio State, and learning without video from Al Geiberger’s swing coach—each mentor shaped not just his swing, but his coaching philosophy.

As a Faculty Member of the PGA Education Facility, Rafael is responsible for teaching PGA of America curriculum to registered PGA Associates and undergraduate students at 18 accredited Universities. Whether it's helping a junior golfer earn a college scholarship or guiding a beginner through their first round with confidence, his joy comes from student breakthroughs—and the thank-you texts that follow.

There is no substitute for giving a lot of lessons, running golf schools, junior camps, and spending hundreds of hours with golfers and students on the course. The breakthroughs happen when players stay focused on the improvements that they agree on, and they follow through with the plan. As a coach- he values curious students who ask questions and truly want to improve. His approach is grounded in patience, personalization, and proven fundamentals—not quick fixes.
